V.R.A.L.Rajkiya Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bareilly, B+ accredited by NAAC in the year 2016-17, was established on July 1st, 1996 as a premier institution of higher education in Bareilly, the historical city known for Jhumka, Manjha and the uniqueness of Zari Zardozi. The first of its kind in the city- this college has sought to accomplish the uphill task of the expansion of women education since its inception. Affiliated to M.J.P.Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (U.P.) the institution is committed to impart quality education to the aspiring young girls of the surrounding area at minimal economic cost through optimal utilization of available resources. Having credited itself with undergraduate courses in three faculties- Arts, Science and Commerce and postgraduate courses in four subjects of Arts- Home Science, Political Science, Sociology & Music, the college has stepped on to the new horizons with offering post graduation in Botany in the year 2018-19.
Presently around 3000 students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MINORITY/ GEN categories as well as differently- abled students are being benefitted under the healthy academic atmosphere of the college. The scholarly and committed faculty of the college not only focuses on the academic uplift of the students but also works incessantly to enhance the skills of the students through extension and co- curricular activities. As part of co- curricular activities the college has NSS & Rangers units, Sports Committee, Cultural Association and departmental associations. The college has a Career Counseling and Placement Cell to equip the students with the latest trends in job market. Proctorial Board and Grievance Redressal Cell of the college address issues related to students. Eco- Restoration Club and Women Cell of the college sensitize the students on issues related to environment and gender equality. The Alumni Association, Parents Teachers Association and Departmental Association are there to establish teacher- student communication as well as interaction between all the stakeholders of the college. Well- maintained library is an asset to the institution. The college is treading on the path of distance education with the study centre of U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad. Computerized office, transparent examination system, updated website, CCTV cameras for girls' security are the strengths of the college.
Our students are geared up to write tales of success and brilliance in the sphere of women education. Since 2007 our students have been securing places in the university exams. Our N.S.S. volunteers have attended mega adventure camps and participated in the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. Our Rangers unit has been honoured with prestigious Vice-President Award.
